From Nov. 22 to Dec.1, Long Beach Airport’s (LGB) passenger count could hit 130,000, which is more than 8% from last year. LGB's holiday season have chances of breaking records this year.

“Whether you're reuniting with loved ones or setting off on a seasonal adventure, Long Beach Airport is committed to offering comfort and convenience, making your journey as enjoyable as the destination itself,” said Mayor Rex Richardson. “We’re proud to offer an easy, stress-free travel experience on some of the busiest travel days of the year.”

Dec. 1 might see 16,000 travelers at LGB. From Nov. 25 to 27, there is an expected 15,000 passengers each day. These numbers are about 32% higher than a typical November day at LGB.

Long Beach Airport Director Cynthia Guidry said, "Even during the busiest travel days of the season, we deliver a calm, cool and convenient travel experience." To accommodate the increased traffic, LGB will pause its Terminal Roadway Improvements construction project during Thanksgiving week, keeping all lanes open.

The airport is recommending that travelers:

- Arrive 90 minutes early, especially for morning flights

- Use free Cell Phone Waiting Lots when picking up passengers

- Check airline baggage rules and flight schedules in advance

- Review TSA guidelines for packing

- Be aware of pet and service animal policies

Local musicians will perform at LGB during holidays. LGB connects L.A. and Orange County, with flights by Southwest, Delta, and Hawaiian. LGB's appeal lies in its compact size and efficient operations.

To manage the influx of travelers, LGB has implemented several measures:

1. Enhanced staffing levels across all airport operations

2. Increased coordination with TSA to optimize security screening processes

3. More parking choices, valet available

4. Better signs to guide passengers around LGB

LGB gears up as U.S. airports face potential record-breaking season. FAA teams up with airlines to smooth out schedules, cut delays

LGB leaders said they're sure they'll keep the airport running smoothly despite crowds. This Thanksgiving, LGB's ready with SoCal flair and top-notch operations.
