Retired basketball player Carmelo Anthony, who finished his career with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2022, announced the roll-out of his cannabis brand, STAYME70, in New York Monday.
STAYME70, pronounced “Stay Melo,” describes itself as a purveyor of “couture cannabis.” Offerings include premium vaporizers and cannabis flower products. Its products have been available on the West Coast since 2024.
“I’m excited to be launching the debut of STAYME7O in New York,” Anthony said. “New York is home, and bringing this project to life here feels incredibly personal and full circle. This isn’t just about cannabis—it’s about empowering our communities, uplifting underserved entrepreneurs, and creating meaningful opportunities that support and celebrate our culture.”
To promote the launch, Anthony appeared at a meet-and-greet in downtown Syracuse, where he played college basketball. Anthony led the Syracuse Orange to a national championship during his sole year in the NCAA.
Behind the line is Grand National, a self-described “agency” Anthony launched in October, alongside Jesce Horton and Brandon Drew Jordan Pierce. Grand National offers promotional partnerships and marketing services to cannabis companies.
A portion of proceeds from STAYME70 will benefit NU Project, an organization which assists minority cannabis entrepreneurs. “We work to build generational wealth for the Black and Brown communities disproportionately harmed by the War on Drugs,” NU Project’s website says.
