Law enforcement officials have interviewed Brooke Mueller, Charlie Sheen's ex-wife, several times about Matthew Perry's death. This is part of the Los Angeles Police Department ongoing investigation of the death of the Friends actor last October.
According to In Touch, Mueller, 45, had a friendship with the late 54-year-old Friends star, both knowing each other from treatment and Hollywood. She has been questioned over her knowledge about Perry's sober journey. An individual disclosed to In Touch that although Mueller has been cooperating with the authorities, she has also sought legal representation following numerous meetings with law enforcement officials.
"Her iPhone and laptop have been seized by the authorities," the insider revealed, though no charges have been filed, and Mueller has not been directly implicated. “It’s tough to say or know exactly what her role is [in Matthew’s death], but she’s adamant she had nothing to do with that,” the insider stated.
Perry was found unresponsive in his hot tub last October, ultimately leading to his tragic demise. The County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner ruled Perry's cause of death as the acute effect of ketamine- the anesthetic is sometimes prescribed off-label to treat depression, anxiety, and pain.
Authorities are reportedly exploring how Perry obtained the ketamine found in his system after his death, as records showed his last prescribed treatment was over a week prior and did not match the concentration in his blood.
Mueller, who lives in a sober living facility, has been open about her sobriety journey in recent years. "She's being tight-lipped about the situation," the In Touch source stated about the investigation.
While her involvement remains unclear, Page Six reported in April that Mueller "has been in a program that 'seems to be working for her.'" She shares 14-year-old twin sons, Max and Bob, with ex-husband Sheen.
Perry's unexpected death at shocked fans and colleagues. As authorities continue their work, new details may emerge shedding light on the tragic circumstances surrounding the beloved actor's final days.
