As temperatures drop and leaves fall, the phenomenon known as "cuffing season" has begun. This annual trend sees singles seeking committed relationships to weather the colder months.

Cuffing season typically lasts from late autumn through early spring. The term "cuffing" refers to the idea of couples metaphorically handcuffing themselves together in commitment.

Experts say the appeal lies in finding a partner to stave off loneliness and seasonal depression during winter. Whether entering a long-term relationship or a seasonal fling, many view it as a time for romantic experimentation.

Sarah Riccio, sex educator and owner of Delicto.com, offers advice on discussing intimate topics with a partner.

Riccio says that consent and compassion are very important when it comes to a sexcapade. “If you pitch the idea of a new sex position, your lover might feel nervous at the prospect of stepping outside their comfort zone. This doesn’t necessarily mean the answer is no, but it’s important to address feelings of discomfort or performance anxiety before jumping into new territory. Take plenty of time to address wants, needs, fears and, if applicable, safe words. The more you let yourself be vulnerable with your lover, the greater your shared intimacy will be,” says Riccio.

For those looking to spice up their love lives this season, various activities are suggested based on astrological signs:

Aries may enjoy experimenting with cold plunges before intimacy. The contrast is said to heighten sensations. Taurus might prefer positions requiring minimal effort but maximum pleasure. Gemini could benefit from eye contact and closeness to stay present in the moment.

Cancer may find comfort in partially clothed encounters. Leo appreciates grand gestures, like surprise deliveries of intimate gifts. Virgo excels at roleplaying scenarios, utilizing their attention to detail. Libra might enjoy mirror-focused activities to admire themselves and their partner.

Scorpio could find blindfolded experiences particularly stimulating. Sagittarius may want to create a list of places to be intimate throughout their home. Capricorn might enjoy temperature play with massage candles.

Aquarius could open dialogues about desires by watching ethical adult content together. Pisces may find CBD products help them relax and stay present during intimate moments.

Experts emphasize the importance of open communication, consent, and mutual comfort when exploring new activities with a partner. They also note that astrological suggestions are meant to be fun inspiration rather than strict guidelines.
