On Tuesday, many stores and businesses will close their doors for the final holiday of the year. It’s a welcome respite from Los Angeles’ usual bustle. But if you have an errand you forgot to run — or if you don’t celebrate Christmas — you may end up looking for options among a limited set.

Grocery Stores:

  • All chains owned by Albertson’s will be open at reduced hours on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. That includes Vons and Albertsons locations. Most stores will close at 10 p.m. on Dec.24, and 3 p.m. on Dec. 25.
  • Aldi stores will be open until 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve, and closed on Christmas Day. They will resume normal operating hours Dec. 26.
  • Ralph’s will close at 10 p.m. Christmas Eve. The chain will also be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Christmas Day.
  • Whole Foods will be open until 7 p.m. Christmas Eve, and will be closed on Christmas Day.

Activities:

  • AMC Theatres will be open Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
  • All major theme parks in the L.A. area will be open. That includes Disneyland, Six Flags, and Universal Studios.
  • Winter Fest OC will present an array of seasonal activities appropriate for families.

Services:

  • The DMV will be open Christmas Eve, but closed on Christmas Day.
  • The Social Security Administration will likewise close on Dec. 25.
