(Reuters) - Hindenburg Research said on Wednesday it has taken a short position in Equinix, sending the data center operator's shares down more than 6% in premarket trading.

The short seller, known for its reports against companies including India's Adani Group, said Equinix trades at elevated levels and has overstated a key metric of its profitability called adjusted funds from operations.

The real estate investment trust did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
