LOUISVILLE, Kentucky (WLKY) -- A woman is facing charges after two children were found living in "inhumane conditions," and a third showed up to school appearing to be malnourished.
Betty Sue Snider, 35, was arrested on Thursday and charged with wanton endangerment, abandonment of a minor, and endangering the welfare of a minor.
Louisville Metro Police Department said officers were called to the 7400 block of Home Park Drive around 2 p.m. Thursday by JCPS administrators.
When officers arrived to the scene, they found two children who were living outdoors, without water, electricity, or solid shelter. An arrest slip also said they had visible injuries.
Administrators and police were then alerted about a third victim, a teenager who showed up to school malnourished, dehydrated, and neglected.
All three victims were taken to Norton Children's Hospital to receive treatment.
The victims told police that Snider had not been at the home and the living conditions inside were filthy, so they were sleeping outside on chairs and a tent. An arrest slip says the victims told police Snider was aware of these conditions and knew the children were sleeping outside.
Police said that Snider admitted the home was unlivable and she had not entered it in months.
LMPD is continuing to investigate the situation.
Snider is scheduled to be arraigned Friday morning.
