Plano police arrested a former pastor in a prostitution sting, charging him with attempting to pay for sex. Court documents show Terren Dames, 51, who formerly led North Dallas Community Bible Fellowship, was charged with soliciting prostitution in June. It's a felony in Texas. Plano police allege Dames called an undercover officer on May 2 and offered to pay $150 for sex. The arrest was part of a routine operation targeting buyers of commercial sex, officials said. According to the affidavit, Dames was directed to a motel and was recorded knocking on a door. He then confirmed his presence via text message with an undercover officer. Police stopped Dames in traffic shortly after. When questioned, he reportedly told officers he was meeting a friend at the motel. The affidavit states Dames experienced a medical episode during the encounter but declined hospital treatment after evaluation by paramedics. North Dallas Community Bible Fellowship (NDCBF) released a statement acknowledging Dames' removal from his position in May due to a "moral failure" without specifying details of the police charge. "NDCBF leadership remains devoted to the church's mission of making disciples and vision to empower each member to impact the world by doing the work of Jesus Christ," the church said. "Sound, biblical doctrine remains a priority."
