Schwartz & Sandy’s, the Hollywood bar owned by Vanderpump Rules costars Tom Schwartz and Tom Sandoval, will shut its doors at the end of the year, venue ownership announced on Instagram Monday.

The closure comes after two years of operation. Schwartz & Sandy’s was opened on the success of its eponymous owners’ last venture, a restaurant named TomTom. The two decided to open their second restaurant without co-investor Lisa Vanderpump, owner of West Hollywood’s SUR.

Schwartz and Sandoval rose to prominence as cast members on the Bravo reality show “Vanderpump Rules,” which originally followed staff members at SUR and their friends. Schwartz was never employed by the restaurant, while Schwartz left his bartending position in order to manage TomTom.

Sandoval was embroiled in controversy in 2023, after it came to light that he had been cheating on longtime girlfriend and co-star Ariana Madix with fellow “Vanderpump” cast member Rachel Leviss. The intrigue was considered especially scandalous because of the close friendship between Madix and Leviss.

Dubbed “Scandoval,” the incident received significant attention on social media, and led to a rise in the viewership of “Vanderpump Rules.” Fans likened it to the similar controversies which propelled the show to popularity in its earliest seasons.

While Schwartz initially reported that the attention had been “great for business,” it also resulted in numerous negative reviews being left on the Google and Yelp pages for both of the pair’s businesses. It is unclear if the controversy contributed to the closure of Schwartz & Sandy’s.

Until its closure at the end of December, Schwartz & Sandy’s will continue to operate. The owners intend to pack the restaurant’s remaining time with events. “We’re hosting themed events all month long— from an Ugly Sweater Night, a Pyjama Party, even a Taylor Swift Birthday Bash,” they said in their statement.
