On Sunday, September 8, Disneyland was shaken by tragedy when a celebrated TikToker passed away shortly after completing the park's Halloween Half Marathon

Bobby Graves, known as Caleb, collapsed just past the finish line at 7 a.m., having blazed through the 13-mile course in less than two hours. Medics jumped into action, trying everything to save him before rushing him to the hospital, but it was too late.

"Fire and rescue personnel were right there on the scene," Sutter explained, noting that "emergency services could not have been there any faster" to attend to the popular influencer.

The cause of his cardiac arrest is currently under investigation by the coroner's office. Sutter told People that Graves didn't have any known medical conditions before his death.

'The race started at 5 a.m., I don't know what start wave he was in, but he crossed the finish line at approximately 7 a.m.," Sutter said.

Runners took off at 5 a.m. as Southern California has been dealing with triple-digit heat waves. Anaheim's temperature was recorded at a scorching 107 degrees by noon.

Graves posted a video the day before, worried about running in such extreme heat.

"Disneyland Halloween half marathon is tomorrow, and I'm marginally worried now," Graves said in the video titled "This heat is no joke."

He described passing out from heat exhaustion after walking his dog for about 20 minutes on Saturday afternoon.

"I grew up in Texas, I know what heat is like but the UV exposure with the heat in Southern California is its own kind of beast," Graves said in the video. "I really hope I get through the race tomorrow morning."

When you overheat and your body temp hits 101-104, that's heat exhaustion. You might feel dizzy, confused, or like you're going to vomit. If you don't cool down fast, it can turn deadly.

Graves was an experienced long-distance runner who had completed multiple races at Disney parks. Earlier this year, Graves knocked out both the full and half marathons at Disney World.

On TikTok, he went by Caleb and shared his running adventures and travels with fans.

As word spread of his death, friends and family poured out their hearts online. His buddy Zane wrote on Facebook: "It is with great sadness that, on behalf of the Graves family that mine should announce the passing of Caleb Graves this morning. He will surely be missed by both of those close to him, and to his family."

"My family asks that you would give the Graves family the space and opportunity they need to make the upcoming arrangements necessary for such an incredible loss and to join with us in prayer for peace that surpasses all understanding."

Disneyland Resort spokesperson Jessica Good told KTLA the park is "deeply saddened by this tragic loss, and our hearts are with Caleb's family and loved ones during this difficult time."

The Halloween Half Marathon is a yearly event that winds through both Disney parks and parts of Anaheim. This year's race happened during a freakishly hot autumn spell across SoCal.

KTLA reported that Graves completed the full marathon and half-marathon competitions at Disney World in 2023 and this year.
