Many Southern California residents are happy to live in a place where frigid temperatures and icy weather are rare. But for those seeking a controlled dose of winter, Winter Fest OC is the destination of choice.
The festival, which runs through January 5 at the Orange County Fair and Event Center in Costa Mesa, celebrates its tenth anniversary this year. Festivities include a real snow play area, as well as ice tubing, a Christmas Tree lighting, and more.
For an additional fee, attendees can skate on Southern California’s largest ice rink, play mini-golf, or attend a winter carnival similar to those in Quebec City and Saint Paul.
The carnival has been expanded this year, including the addition of a dedicated Kids’ Carnival. It now features 26 rides for all ages.
Winter Fest OC will remain open on Christmas and Christmas Eve, meaning that it is one of the few area attractions families can enjoy during the holidays.
Tickets may be purchased directly from the festival’s website.
