Ian Grieg - LA Post

A manhunt for a “very dangerous” murder suspect is underway in Morrilton, Arkansas, after police received information that he purchased camping gear in the area. The suspect, Stacy Lee Drake, 50, is wanted for a homicide in Alabama and is suspected in three other killings in Oklahoma.

According to reports, police sources suggest that Drake was believed to still be living in the Morrilton region on last week and had recently purchased camping equipment there. Surveillance footage images of Drake included him wearing an unflattering cap that covered his face, wearing a massive backpack, and two bags of plastic. The search was intensified Tuesday evening when Morrilton Police received a tip about a vehicle stolen located at a hotel in the area which was discovered in the vicinity of two murders in Oklahoma.

In spite of a thorough search of the hotel, Drake's present location is not known. Drake was deemed "very dangerous" by the police and was suspected of carrying an attack weapon. At 5'11", he has a weight of 185 pounds. According to the Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation, both victims had injuries that might have been the result of killings. One victim was identified by relatives to be Taylor Sharp. Drake is a felon convicted with a lengthy record of crimes that include kidnapping, burglary, armed burglary, and assault against a police officer.

According to KSCB News, the sentence was 22 years in the year 2010 after being found guilty of carjacking, being a felon with guns; and displaying an firearm in the carjacking. The police are asking anyone with information on Drake's location to call police at the Morrilton Police Department. The manhunt of the various agencies continues active to catch the wanted and risky suspect.

The Franklin Fire in Malibu Canyon grew to more than 2,700 acres as of Tuesday near Pepperdine University.  The fire – driven by Santa Ana winds – started Monday and was first reported at 11 p.m. It threatens about 2,000 structures, forcing mandatory evacuations orders to be handed out. However, only a “minimal” number of homes have been destroyed, and no injuries have been reported.  There’s a high volume of dry brush, which contributed to the rapidly growing fire. The fire began in the midst of a “particularly dangerous situation red flag warning” issued by the National Weather Service. Los Angeles
