3 myths about immigration in America

A family of Syrian refugees arrive at their new home in Bloomfield, Mich., in 2015. Andrew Renneisen/Getty Images The U.S. is – and long has been – a pluralistic society that contains large immigrant communities. Yet migration is an actively debated but poorly understood topic, and much of the conventional thinking and political rhetoric about migration are based on myths, rather than facts. For these reasons, migration policies and strategies for easing acculturation – which refers to the psychological process of assimilating to a new culture – usually end up being ineffective. Think being a NASCAR driver isn't as physically demanding as other sports? Think again

Race car drivers compete in full-body safety gear while sitting in a piping hot car, which puts tremendous strain on the heart. Jennifer Lawrence on ‘No Hard Feelings,’ the R-rated comedy made with the Oscar winner in mind

Jennifer Lawrence has wanted to do a big comedy for years. She has always been funny and vibrant in her television appearances. Russell and others, she also hasn’t exactly gotten the big, broad “Dumb and Dumber” or “Anchorman” experience, to cite some of her favorites (or at least the ones she’s memorized). That changes Friday with “No Hard Feelings,” a classic, raunchy R-rated comedy that was tailor made for the Oscar winner. “I’ve always wanted to do a comedy.
